This year, join me to help children with brain illnesses and injuries, like Ezekiel.

JELENA DOKIC

Ezekiel has Hydrocephalus, a brain disorder caused by an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles deep within the brain. This excess fluid causes the ventricles to widen, putting harmful pressure on the brain's tissues.

The symptoms of Hydrocephalus vary with age, from low tone, seizures, vision problems and loss of balance to loss of bladder control and personality changes. To date there is no known way to prevent or cure hydrocephalus - it is for life.

Every day in Australia, 10 children are diagnosed with life-altering neurological conditions or acquired brain injuries.

These children are in your suburb. They are in your street. Any family, no matter where, wealth or circumstances can be affected.

Brainwave Australia is their lifeline.

We are the only national charity that supports the child, and their whole family.

Following diagnosis, families can endure incredible hardship, isolation, trauma and sibling neglect, while they learn to navigate new and complex systems

We exist to build the strength and resilience families need, from diagnosis onwards, to cope, adapt and thrive.

We support over 1,400 families Australia wide and our daily registrations have increased dramatically - we now receive two new registrations each day!

We need your help to respond to a doubling of registrations.

You can change a family's life this year by supporting Brainwave Australia.

About Brainwave Australia

Brainwave Australia has been making a profound difference in the lives of children diagnosed with brain injuries or illnesses, and their families, for almost 30 years.

We support children, and their families, from birth or diagnosis onwards and connection runs through all that we do.

We connect parents to other parents, siblings to other siblings, helping to create an invaluable network of people with lived experience to share and support each other. We fund life-changing equipment and therapies. We work with the siblings and parents, as part of the family unit, running camps, family days and sibling events.

We are unique and responsive, supporting Brainwave Families when and where they need it most.
